The SafeKnob is designed for standard star-form (spline) split-shaft potentiometers.
It uses a friction-fit that relies on the shaft’s ability to slightly compress, ensuring a secure and stable hold on split shafts.
Compatibility & Specs:
- Shaft Diameter: 6mm (M7 standard sizing for split-shaft pots)
- Shaft Length: the maximal support shaft length measured from the case is 15mm
- Thread Diameter: M7 (refers to the threaded bushing of the potentiometer, not the shaft itself)
- Thread Length: The thread should be at least 3mm
- Fit Type: Friction-fit for split shafts only
Important Note:
Because the inner bore is fully round and does not use a set screw or D-flat, this knob may not grip properly on solid or semi-solid shafts. For best performance and safety, use only with star/spline split-shaft potentiometers.
